Terminology

Abbreviations

$1/1, $1/2, etc. = One dollar off one item, one dollar off two items, etc.

BOGO or B1G1 = Buy one item get one item free

Blinkies = Grocery/drugstore coupon dispensers with blinking lights

Cat = Catalina coupon, prints from a separate machine when your receipt prints

FAR = Free after rebate

 IPQ = Internet printable coupon

MC = Manufacturer Coupon

 MIR = Mail-in rebate

 OYNO = On your next order

OOP = Out of pocket (the amount you pay out of pocket at the time)

Peelie = Peel-off coupon found on product packaging

 RRs = Register Rewards ($5 after 5,000 points)

 SCR = Single Check Rebate, Rite Aid monthly rebates program

TTV= Twice the Value (Albertsons will double the value of any coupon valued up to $1 including “do not double” coupons, 3 per transaction and only on select weekends)

UPC = Universal Product Code, bar code on a product

WYB = When you buy

 YMMV = You mileage (or manager) may vary, some stores may allow you to do a deal, some may not.

Other Terms to understand

Stacking– You are not able to use two MC’s on one item this is called stacking. The only exception to this rule is when combining your mc with a store coupon, RR or Cat for $ amount off total purchase.

Round up– Occasionally Albertsons will have a week where they round up the value of your coupon to $1. These are generally on coupons $0.25 or more up to a $1 value. If the coupon is below the $0.25 value then they will quadruple the value of the coupon.  If the value is $1 or more you get the value of the coupon.
